Dr David Pearson has been appointed an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine.

Clinical Leadership

Dr Pearson is a Senior Staff Specialist in Intensive Care at the Gold Coast and Robina Hospital. He joins Bond University as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine and member of the clinical education leadership team. 

David originally trained in the United Kingdom at Cambridge University before relocating to Australia. Since completing specialist training in Intensive Care Medicine in 2012 at the College of Intensive Care Medicine, he has held a range of leadership, teaching, and clinical positions at Gold Coast Hospitals and Health Services. Among these positions have been as Supervisor of Training for intensive care trainees, as well as Deputy Director at the Robina and Gold Coast University Hospital ICU campuses.

Teaching Background

David oversaw approximately 200 intensive care trainees every year throughout the state as the Medical Director of the Queensland Intensive Care Training Pathway from 2019 to 2023. He commenced studies at the University of Sydney's Master of Coaching Psychology program in 2023, where he has been able to integrate the fundamentals of evidence-based coaching into his leadership roles.

Additionally, David served as senior faculty for the College of Intensive Care Medicine Communication Course.
