Academic Leadership
Dr Siyambalapitiya is an academic with over 20 years of experience as a clinician, tertiary educator and researcher. She is a certified practicing speech pathology member with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and joins Bond University from Griffith University where she was Program Director of the Master of Speech Pathology program.
Background and Research
Samantha attained her PhD at The University of Queensland. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), and a past accreditor for Speech Pathology Australia. As a past foundation staff member of speech pathology programs, Samantha has developed curriculum and course design across a range of subject areas. Her work has also been published in international peer-reviewed journals.
Samantha is also the founder and leader of the Sympatico Research Group which aims to integrate culture and language with health and wellbeing. Understanding and improving the treatment of management of communication disabilities in bilingual and/or culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) individuals is the main focus of study.
