Professor Belinda Lange has been appointed Professor of Health AI at Queensland University of Technology.

Academic Leadership

Professor Lange joins Queensland University of Technology from Flinders University. Belinda is a physiotherapist, educator and digital health researcher, with 20-years of experience in co-design and evaluation of digital health technologies such as virtual reality, virtual humans, and game-based rehabilitation tools in clinical and community settings. 

Background and Research

Belinda has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and has led or been a co-researcher in over $5 million in funding for projects that developed and clinically evaluated virtual reality and interactive tools for training, mental health, wellbeing, and neurological rehabilitation. Belinda is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health, Chair of the Flinders Human Research Ethics Committee, Deputy Chair of the Southern Adelaide Clinical Human Research Ethics Committee and holds non-executive Board Director roles in the Australasian Institute of Digital Health, the Australian Physiotherapy Council, and Gymnastics SA.

Belinda joins QUT in 2026 to take a leadership position in the University’s Health AI research initiative.
