Professional Leadership
Dr Brenda Holt joins Burgmann College (an independent college affiliated with the Australian National University) - after extensive experience as an Executive across several of The University of Melbourne Colleges including St Hilda's College, Queens College, Trinity College, Whitley College and Little Hall. Throughout her career, she has held positions as an academic advisor, counsellor, teacher, college head, researcher, and administrator. Brenda has also led operations for a not-for-profit organisation, State School's Relief, an organisation that improves the lives of disadvantaged school students.
Academic Background
Brenda attained her PhD at The University of Melbourne and has held a research appointment as Honorary Fellow of the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. Her thesis, 'Global Routes/Rural Roots: Identity, Rural Women and Higher Education', was completed at the end of 2007 and won the 2009 Chancellor's Prize (Social Sciences).
